Top 5 AI Tools for Music Producers

Artificial Intelligence is beginning to make an impact in many different industries, and yes, it is also making its debut in the world of music production.

The usage of AI in music production is heavily debated amongst artists. Many music producers are denouncing the use of AI all together in their music, others are using some AI tools to help with mixing.

We at Rocket Powered Sound, never use AI in any of our sound design. We exclusively work with professional producers to create our samples. Frankly, they are just better.

But, AI is not going anywhere. Here are five music production AI tools to take your projects to the next level.

Audialab Emergent Drums 2

This is an AI powered drum kit plugin that generates drum samples for you. You can adjust a few parameters and hit “Generate” until you get something you like, and you can even sculpt the sounds further to your liking after they have been generated. Very cool, you can learn more about this plugin here.

Orb Producer Suite 3

This one really comes in handy when you have writers block: Orb Producer Suite 3. This plugin isn’t just going to generate random chords, it actually analyzes the existing material. Then, it’ll generate chord progressions and melodies based on key signatures, tempos, and music styles that it identified. Learn more about this one here.

Vocs.AI

Vocs.AI is basically an AI demo singer. All you have to do is upload your acapella, and it will transform it to sound like one of the many voices to choose from. You can have control over things like the tone, emotion, and the pitch. Also, it’s all royalty free!

Magenta DDSP

This one is pretty wild. It’s able to take your voice and transform it into just about any instrument. Experiment with different timbres and such, discover new musical expressions. Check out DDSP here.

Neutone

This is similar to the DDSP plugin in that it takes a sample (but not necessarily vocals) and basically plays it as a different instrument. So, if you had a sample of a synth pad, you could use Neutone to make it sound like a Female Choir, ect. There are lots of different “instruments” to choose from, and several parameters to further tweak the sound. It’s still pretty experimental, but there are a lot of possibilities with this. Check it out here.
